From Deb – “My daughter is 1-2 days old – I was feeling happy, confident and strong and tired – doing the long haul with an unsettled baby. Now I know her head, belly hurt”. 😐

“How to Heal a Bad Birth” is the brainchild of Debby Gould and Melissa Bruijn, founders of Birthtalk.org. Since 2002, through Birthtalk.org, they have specialised in ‘moving on after a bad birth’, and provided unique and essential support to those impacted by a difficult, disappointing or traumatic birth.
Debby and Melissa each bring to the table a diverse set of knowledge and insights garnered from their years of experience.  Debby is a trained midwife, childbirth educator and doula, and mother of two.  Melissa is a mum of three who had a traumatic experience with her first birth and felt the full impact of this, before healing and moving on. Debby and Melissa are also family. As sisters-in-law they have seen first-hand how a traumatic birth can impact upon the early months and years of parenting, and were inspired to create Birthtalk.org with the desire that no other family should experience such isolation, desperation and confusion after a birth.
This book is the realisation of their dream to spread their understanding, information and proven tools about healing as widely as possible.
