Our community has been devastated by the Australian bushfire crisis. Nick & Bec have a property ‘WyndhamFell’ on Wildwoods Lane near Wyndham, NSW where they were developing their vision of a sustainable education and community hub for food, animal care and herb production. This dream was shattered on 1 February 2020 when the ‘Big Jack Fire’ tore through their community.
Nick and Bec are still in damage control on their property. The whole property was burnt and has been destroyed, however, Nick managed to save their house and apothecary. He stayed until the very last moment and flooded the buildings with water.
The NSW coast is in drought, so there is now no water on the property for their beloved animals, or for them, to return to their home to live any time soon.
Nick is also a volunteer firefighter and for more than a month (since 30 December) they’ve both been saving properties and lives with the NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS). They have barely slept. Their lack of ability to create any income since then, together with having to evacuate and come home again has been extremely taxing on these amazing and giving people. Yet during this whole time, they have both given so much to help others in the community affected by the fires. And still remain to do so!
There are a few immediate needs that we would love to help them with right now so they can go on with a rebuild their vision and so their animals and the wildlife can survive.
Infrastructure – Piping — Generator — Fencing — Flooring — Shed — Dam — Food and Water — Wildlife Care — Tools and Hardware
Nick and Bec need our support and ANY donations are completely appreciated especially for immediate costs. Nick is returning to continue to fight the fires with the RFS as I write this. For them to return home needs a lot of our love from all the people that they have come across and who care for this beautiful couple.
Just 6 weeks ago they were married on their property. While their land has been devastated by fire they have their hearts here.
